Göran Hongell

Göran Hongell 1902 - 1973

Studies: Central School of Arts and Crafts, decorative art 1920 - 1923.

He was asked to become a free-lance artist for the Karhula works in December 1932. In 1954, he was given the position as Art Director of Ahlström corporation. He worked as Art Director un till his retirement in 1957.

In 1928 Hongell received the 4th price in the Riihimäki glass design competition, diploma of honour from the world exhibition in Brussels, gold medal in the world exhipition in Paris 1937, as well as in the Milan X Trieannale in 1954. In 1988 Hongell's *Aarne (1948) collection won the International 'Tabletop Award at Dallas, USA.
