"Aino Anttila (born 1932, Helsinki) began working at Arabia in 1943 as an ornamental painter. She studied at the School of Art and Design in the ceramics department from 1954–57, further developing her skills as a ceramicist. From 1963–69 she served as an assistant to Rut Bryk and thereafter worked in Arabia's art department until 1974. She had extensive knowledge of the factory's clay bodies, kilns, firings and other key production techniques. In the works she produced for the art department she specialized in reduction firing of porcelain and stoneware at high temperatures, which produced red, gray and green shades in copper glazes. Her cast and wheel-thrown pieces are simplified in form — simple bowls, vases and dishes."
